[Ashes of Babel - Want Some?]

I can imagine sound effects going with this scene.
They aint no appetizing sound effects...

But honestly, this is, in fact, amazingly cute. So cute it makes me wanna go squee all over the place.

Ironically, I consider the overall dark tone of the piece one of the main causes of its remarkable adorableness, as it does not rely on the obnoxious "kittens, bunnies and sweet, colorful stuff"-formula, and gives us instead something fresh and new. The artwork is not particularly detailed, but effective and proof that you surely know how to put an emphasis on shapes and use colour to highlight specific spots (the eyes, my god THE EYES...).

I would love to see an an entire comic (or maybe even a flash) done this way. It would be truly epic.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. The most important part of this series was the focus on showing Shina experiencing a variety of emotions. I think the endearing qualities come from how honestly her face expresses those emotions.

Okay...
To be honest, these are neither especially detailed nor particularly elaborate.
But holy sh*t, do they look good!

They are simple without looking minimalistic or unrealistically stylized, thus making them basically perfect background images. I just love how you give the pictures a foggy, cold tone by using color and partially transparent white layers.

Plus, I love fantastic landscapes such as these in general.

great use of colour, lighting and reflections. Few artworks can actually transport the concepts of taste (sweet) and temperature (warmth).

Awesomeness.

Love your style, man. That professionally used blurr effect makes the objects (rocks? bullets?) in the foreground look fast and dynamic, in contrast to the blunt and heavy, yet still floating machine.

My deepest respect for an artist who has obviously mastered the art of digital painting.
